DHCP

By default Subsonus is configured as a DHCP client, It requires a DHCP server to be present on the network and will be automatically assigned an IP address by the server.

To configure DHCP Client mode:

  1. Navigate to the “Configuration”→”Ethernet Settings” page.

  2. For “Ethernet Mode” select “DHCP Client”.

Static IP

Subsonus can be configured with a static IP address, this mode may be required when operating on a network that does not have a DHCP server present. Note that configuring a static IP address may break the ability to access Subsonus from the current network configuration, please be sure when configuring static IP addresses.

To configure Static IP mode:

  1. Navigate to the “Configuration”→”Ethernet Settings” page.

  2. For “Ethernet Mode” select “Static IP”.

  3. Enter a Fixed IP Address, for example 192.168.1.10.

  4. Enter a valid netmask, for example 255.255.255.0.

  5. If required, enter a gateway IP Address.

  6. If required, enter a broadcast address.

  7. If required enter a DNS server address.

Link Mode

Link mode is the speed of the Ethernet connection, the modes can be configured as:

  • Auto Negotiation (Default) – automatically determine the best link mode.

  • 100 Mbps Full Duplex.

  • 100 Mbps Half Duplex.

  • 10 Mbps Full Duplex.

  • 10 Mbps Half Duplex.

This setting should be left on automatic unless the application directly requires a specific link mode.
